Madrid, 6th June, 2024 - Hospital Universitari General de Catalunya from has optimized the follow-ups for discharged ED patients by implementing 's Conversational AI.

The preliminary results have already shown an improvement in the quality of follow-up care, a reduction in unnecessary visits, an improvement in patient experience, and greater efficiency in the healthcare system due to the reduced care burden.

The goal is to improve post-emergency follow-up for hospital patients and facilitate the work of the healthcare team, aligning with Quirónsalud's strategy to promote value-based medicine.

Monitoring patients after they leave the emergency department is crucial to prevent complications and avoid repeat visits. However, this process is often not performed or is done manually, consuming unnecessary time and resources, and potentially causing delays in identifying patients who need additional care.The implementation of remote services, in synergy with the clinical AI assistant LOLA from  allows the hospital to automate and optimize clinical follow-up, enhancing the efficiency and quality of patient care.

The AI assistant LOLA calls patients who have visited the emergency department to collect information about their health, asking how they are feeling and what symptoms they are experiencing. This information, categorized according to a risk score, is easily accessible to clinical staff. Its main function is to timely detect any significant symptoms or changes and communicate them to clinical professionals so they can contact the patient personally as soon as possible, take early follow-up actions, or refer the patient to a specific specialist based on their diagnosis.
